The Founder of the Sree Narayana Trusts is the late Sri. R. Shankar (1909-1972), a dynamic leader with a wide vision and the third Chief Minister of Kerala, a towering figure in Kerala Politics and a great social reformer. He was an able administrator and an ideal teacher, advocate, social worker and journalist, who used to take decisions impartially without fear or favour.
SN Trusts was founded in 1952 in the name of the great saint and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru (1856-1928) to realize one of his important messages, “Freedom through Education”.
Sri. Vellapally Natesan is the General Secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam, the social organisation of millions of Ezhavas in Kerala. He hails from kanichukulngara, Alappuzha district of Kerala.
Vellapally Natesan Born as one of the 13 children of Late Vellappally Kesavan Muthalaly, of rich vellapally family who were land-lords of the locality. The family were owning a school and a devi temple at kanichukulngara. Now Vellapally Natesan is General Secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam and SN Trust. He popularly known as “Vellapally” and played the recent major role in bringing up the Ezhava community as a politically strong group in Kerala. He is well known for his outspokenness and is supposed to be a king maker in Kerala politics. He is from Alleppey in Kerala, India.
